This overhaul of the old Co-op Community Discount Program increases the benefits of Co-op membership while supporting our local businesses. It's another great way for us to keep our money local!
After all, it's right there in End No. 1:
"There will be a thriving and sustainable local economy providing meaningful jobs, goods and services to our members and the community."
Local First participating businesses provide a wide variety of savings or special offers exclusively for Weavers Way members. You’ll discover deals at restaurants, cafés and bakeries, discounts on wellness, legal and financial services — and more! Check them out in the online Weavers Way Local First directory; a printed version will be available in the stores later this month. Or just look for the Local First decal in storefronts all over the Northwest! All you have to do is present your Weavers Way member card. (If you can’t locate it, contact the Membership Department at 215-843-2350, ext. 119, or firstname.lastname@example.org for a replacement.) Is your business interested in joining up? Contact Outreach Coordinator Bettina de Caumette for info.
Switching spending from big-box retail stores and chains to local, independently owned businesses benefits our collective quality of life by helping create new jobs, attracting new business and even increasing real estate values. Weavers Way Local First reinforces our neighborhood networks, keeps our hard-earned money local, and shows how community partners can come together in a spirit of collaboration over competition.
Here’s to keeping it local first!
