'From the Ashes' Film Screening & Discussion

Wednesday, June 28, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Join Weavers Way for a screening of "From the Ashes," followed by conversation about ways we can work together to make Ambler more sustainable.

A compelling look at the lives and issues behind the “war on coal,” "From the Ashes" premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and will air globally on National Geographic in the U.S. on June 25 and globally this summer.

The documentary, directed by Michael Bonfiglio, captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry and what its future should be under the Trump Administration. From Appalachia to the West's Powder River Basin, the film goes beyond the rhetoric of the "war on coal" to present compelling and often heartbreaking stories about what's at stake for our economy, health, and climate. The film invites audiences to learn more about an industry on the edge and what it means for their lives.

“Heartbreaking and enlightening at the same time. A must-watch for everyone because we should all be in this together.”
– Former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry
