Fracking: Money & Politics, with special guest Rep. Greg Vitali

Join us for an evening of discussion about fracking for natural gas and its associated impacts on environmental and human health. Guest Speaker Representative Greg Vitali, Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, will present his "Marcellus Money and the Pennsylvania Legislature Report." Rep. Vitali hails from the 166th Legislative District (serving parts of Delaware and Montgomery Counties), where he has been a champion of the environment since 1992. Rep. Vitali will share his analysis of PA campaign finance reports, lobbying reports and ethics statements relating to gas drilling in our state. His presentation will show the amount of money spent by the gas drilling industry on our elected officials, illustrate the policy consequences of lobbyist influence, and discuss recommended changes.

This program is co-hosted by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF - Greater Philadelphia Branch), and Weavers Way Co-op's Environment Committee. The Weavers Way Environment Committee researches environmental concerns and informs the Co-op and its members about current environmental issues. This committee develops green projects locally, monitors store-related environmental concerns and makes recommendations.
