Pennypack Farm Sustainability Film Fest: 'FOOD FOR CHANGE'

Tuesday, March 26, 2019 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

The second screening in Pennypack's Sustainability Film Festival this year is one we here at Weavers Way are particularly excited about:

"FOOD FOR CHANGE" tells the little-known and fascinating history of the Co-operative Movement over the course of the 20th century in America.

From the Official "FOOD FOR CHANGE" downloadable discussion and study guide:

"History is often a selective force in shaping national identity and policies. The history of cooperatives is of particular interest because it reveals another side of the American character in contrast to the dominant narrative of individualism. Success in cooperatives is measured by equanimity among its members and by social, environmental, and community standards. In an era where ideologies restrict meaningful, productive dialogue, co-ops provide insights into the challenges of maintaining universal membership and democratic control in an alternative economic system that operates within the capitalist system."

INSIGHTFUL, REVEALING and REMARKABLE, the film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Weavers Way staff and members!

Tickets are $12 each, $10 for students and Ambler Theater members. Doors open at 6 p.m. with a Sponsor Expo in the Lobby. Film starts at 7:30 p.m.
