Weavers Way Neighborhood Nutrition Team Workshop: Heart-Healthy Meal Prep

Plan your meals ahead of time to make smart and healthy choices! During this workshop, Neighborhood Nutrition Team Members Liz Traison Witkin and Nicole Schillinger will provide recipes, introduce helpful kitchen tools and gadgets, and discuss meal-planning tips and tricks. You'll learn to reduce food waste, eat healthy and save time, making for a stress-free week!

The Weavers Way Neighborhood Nutrition Team is a group of six nutritionists, dietitians and other wellness practitioners. The Team aims to bring nutrition inspiration and information to Co-op members, providing information and resources that empower members to make desired changes in their nutrition.

Liz Traison Witkin is completing her Dietetic Didactic Internship Verification at LaSalle University. She has worked as a SNAP and nutrition educator, food justice curriculum writer, and as a chef and educator in a private dining studio. Her favorite kitchen tools are a sharp knife and a rubber spatula.

Nicole Schillinger has worked as a clinical registered dietitian for more than 10 years in hospitals, nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. She is also a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. In her private practice, The Functional Health Center, she uses medical nutrition therapy to help individuals with diseases improve the quality of their lives. β€œIt is very gratifying to educate patients,” she says. β€œI give them tools to adjust their lifestyle, make healthier choices, follow an exercise regimen and feel better about themselves.”
