The purpose of the Weavers Way Board is to govern and guide the Co-op on behalf of the members. Responsible and constructive oversight has a critical impact on the vitality of the Co-op.

The Board encourages other members to run for the Board, especially those who:

  • Are visionary — who can see past the way things are now, and see what might be.
  • Are conceptual thinkers — who have the ability to see issues in their proper context; to see which principles an issue or event falls under.
  • Grasp the big picture — who are adept at putting each issue into a perspective guided by a larger view.
  • Are connected to the ownership — who are committed to seeking out, listening to, and learning from members’ ideas, opinions and values and principles regarding Weavers Way.
  • Demonstrate moral courage — who are willing and able to stand up and speak out even when it is uncomfortable.
  • Can work in a group — who are capable of working through differences, and respect diverse points of view; can allow others to lead; and can accept responsibility and delegate authority.

The Board is continually assessing the relevance of its policies and how effective they are at achieving the goals of the Co-op

Here's what you need for the 2026 application process:

Attend Required Meetings

    1. Attend a Run for The Board Information Session
      • Thursday, January 29, at 7:30pm
      • Wednesday, February 4, at 7:30pm
      • Saturday, February 7, at 10:00am
    2. Attend a Weavers Way Board of Directors meeting
      • Tuesday, January 6, 7:00 PM
      • Tuesday, February 3, 7:00 PM
      • Tuesday, March 3, 7:00 PM

Submit Application Documents
Deadline: Saturday, February 28

Please fill out, scan, and send the following to leadershipcommittee@weaversway.coop. All of the documents must be sent as three seperate files

    • Board Candidates Conflict of Interest and Directors Agreement and Board Candidates Questionnaire
      • Board Candidates Questionnaire: Please respond in writing to the following questions in order.
        Limit your answers to 250 words total for all (not each) questions. Your responses will be published in the April Shuttle as part of the election process.
        1. Why are you a member of Weavers Way? Please describe your involvement in Weavers Way: shopper (at which of our stores), working member, employee, committee member, special projects and other activities.
        2. Describe your experience with overseeing a business or organization’s budget and financial performance.
        3. What do you perceive to be the long- and short-term challenges facing Weavers Way?
        4. What volunteer or professional experiences have you had with other cooperatives or organizations that will help you strengthen the Weavers Way Board?
