The Weavers Way Emergency Response Network is hosting its first public educational event on Wednesday 5/20 at 6pm at Summit Church. There will be a panel of Weavers Way members talking on their experiences related to emergency preparedness. Come hear from your neighbors!

■ Ed Melendez will speak on his experiences living through Hurricane Katrina and the Texas Ice Storm.

■ Josh Mitteldorf will introduce lessons on self-reliance from our grandparents/ great grandparents who knew how to grow food, repair things, and build community networks of mutual aid.

■ Maryellen Norek will tell us about Transition Towns Greater Media – their amazing number of initiatives and what we can learn from them.

■ Duane Quenzel will review portable, filtered water bottles and walkie talkies and give us recommendations.

There will be a Q&A and community discussion. Bring your friends, family, and especially your neighbors! Snacks will be served!
