"Don’t forget tea! I gave up tea bags. Loose teas from Chinatown groceries come in pretty reusable tins. Good for storing dried garden herbs too."

"Some of these reused spice jars are probably 20 years old. They hold smaller quantities of bulk spices, herbs and home mixes."

"Repurposed vodka bottles from local distiller, Stateside, make great bulk vessels. Added bonus, the cashiers often find it amusing and/or perplexing ("I didn't think we carried vodka")."

"For Dry goods, I use plastic containers, mostly from past take out at Tiffin. The key is that they were already in existence and on their way to the recycling bin."

"There are 3 sizes and they all take the same lid, and stack up when empty so I can carry a lot of them in my bulk-pack, where I also keep my shopping bags and old (dry!!!) plastic veggie bags for reuse (in an old baby sock!)"

"The lids are even smaller, so I keep one labeled with the PLU and the tare for items I buy regularly. Pull out the list, grab the right number of quarts and pint bottoms, then flip through the lids like a deck of cards to find whatever is on the list."

"Once I get home, I'd rather keep them in jars, so I transfer to glass for longer term storage, wipe out the containers with a dry towel and back they go into the bulk-pack."

"Buying grains/baking products in bulk and storing in airtight containers keeps them fresher than cardboard/paper plastic packaging and helps control grain moths."
