Medicare: Getting Ready to Retire

Thursday, March 10, 2022 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Are you thinking of retiring and are confused about your options regarding Medicare? Are you turning 65 and wondering what do I do now? Or you over 65 and still working and are thinking what should I know about Medicare? Do I need to start my Medicare planning even though I am covered by my spouse's plan? When should I enroll in Medicare? What are the enrollment periods? All these questions can be confusing and it is often overwhelming to navigate the information on your own. Medicare presents you with many options and timelines. It is important to understand your choices and what they will cost you. It is also important to know when you need to enroll, what the enrollment deadlines are, and what penalties you may face. The choice you make at the beginning may influence your ability to change later. APPRISE is part of the national SHIP program (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) funded by the Federal Government through the State Offices on Aging. We are well-trained certified volunteers who understand the options and can help you with unbiased individual counseling, free of charge.
