Wellness Cooking Demo: Warming Foods to Hold You Over Until Spring
By this point in the winter, many of us have grown tired of our go-to recipes. Join this session to learn simple, nourishing and delicious recipes, such as brothy beans and spaghetti squash pad thai, that will keep you satisfied until spring produces sprouts again.
This program is brought to you by the Weavers Way Neighborhood Nutrition Team, a group of nutritionists, dietitians and other wellness practitioners who are working together to bring nutrition inspiration and information to Weavers Way members. The Team aims to provide information and resources that empower members to make desired changes in their nutritional programs.
The program will be led by Nutrition Team Member Liz Traison Witkin. Liz is a registered-dietitian student at LaSalle University and also is working on her masters in human nutrition. A Detroit native, she moved to Philadelphia in 2015 to work in community nutrition. Last year, as a Dorot fellow in Israel, she worked for renowned chef Ezra Kedem as a sous chef and farm manager. Ask her about lacto-fermentation, yogurt making and kitchen-sink soups.
