Moxie Tuesday Workshop: Cooking with Beans
Adding beans to your weekly menu is a simple thing that can make a huge difference to your health and well-being.
In this interactive workshop and cooking demo, licensed clinical nutritionist and herbalist Wendy Romig of Sage Integrative Health Center will share different ways to easily integrate beans into your every day life. We will talk about the incredible versatility of beans, why dried beans are better for your health (and your wallet!), the extraordinary nutritional benefits of beans, and how to prepare simple soups and stews with these diverse legumes. Every participant will take home a free bag of beans from the Co-op's bulk department, along with a corresponding recipe!
Admission is FREE. Gift-based donations (suggested $5 per person) collected at the door will benefit Food Moxie. Register HERE.
Look out for food-focused workshops, cooking demos, film screenings and other events brought to you every Tuesday by Food Moxie in partnership with Weavers Way. Food Moxie was created by the Board of Directors of the Weavers Way Cooperative Association in 2007 as a means to actively promote the health and well-being of the community in which it operates, and offer direct support to Philadelphia families in need. In the years since, Food Moxie has become an independent nonprofit organization, offering a unique range of farm, nutrition, and culinary education programs, positively impacting the lives of thousands of children and families in Northwest Philadelphia and beyond.
