A Wednesday Workshop: Local Medicinal Plants & DIY Elderberry Syrup **CANCELLED**
UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THIS WORKSHOP. IT WILL BE RESCHEDULED AT A LATER DATE. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING!
------------
Get to know your local native and invasive plants and their many medicinal benefits as well as their aesthetic value in the garden!
You will go home with valuable knowledge of the local flora and enough dried elderberries (from the native Sambucus shrub) to prepare a pint of Elderberry Syrup. This syrup is delicious, great for kids and helps to prevent and treat colds and flus.
This workshop is led by Dorene Reggiani, a professional gardener and herbalist living in Germantown. She is currently a partner of Forest House Garden Design, specializing in creative and ecological garden design.
REGISTER HERE. Cost: $20 per person including materials. Workshop proceeds benefit LandHealth Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to putting nature back and restoring connections between people and nature in the city.
Join us weekly on Wednesday evenings for workshops that will inspire and enable a stronger connection of our homes and lifestyles to nature and community. From how-to workshops on topics of self-sufficiency and urban homesteading to discussions about gardening for biodiversity, Wednesday night programs will guide us in methods of creating more sustainable, connected, and personally satisfying ways of modern living.
