In this 90-minute workshop, you will learn how to pipe, fill, and embellish cookies. Learn how to prepare and tint royal icing using only natural ingredients!
Each participant will receive cookies to decorate and take home. Workshop facilitator Ellen Gray will also share her professional cookie baking tips and icing techniques.
Please bring your favorite apron and a small kitchen towel, along with any questions you may have. Piping bags and tips will be provided.
We’ll snack on seasonally inspired cookies during our break!

Commanding the helm of one of New Jersey’s most popular bakeries, Ellen Gray knows a thing or two about pies, and recently baked more than 700 pies for the Thanksgiving rush! She also teaches baking and pie-making classes, creates new recipes and posts tips, travelogues, recipes and seasonal Pie-kus on her popular blog, No More Mr. Nice Pie. She is currently writing a book on pies in progress now, under contract with One Big Table. A long time resident of Wyndmoor, Pa., Ellen owned and operated A Slice of Heaven in Chestnut Hill for more than a decade and was the pastry chef for many years at Stella Notte and Cafette. Her tenure as pastry chef at Tabora Farm and Orchard in Bucks County cemented her passion for turning the best of the season into impressive desserts. She now resides and works in Maplewood, N.J.
